Benchmarking

The IT Cost Benchmarking visualizations below enable you to view and create custom visualizations based on a set of agency / bureau groupings and IT Cost Categories based on the agency reported Prior Year spend. Each step will become visible as you complete the previous step. To create your own custom benchmarking visualization follow these steps:

Step 1 Select an agency / bureau Grouping and Subgrouping;
Step 2 Select the agency you would like to compare to the selected agency grouping and subgrouping;
Note - At the completion of steps 1 and 2, the visualization will become visible, and enable you to complete steps 3 and 4.
Step 3 Select from one of a set of benchmark categories located on the left side of the visualization; and
Step 4 Further select the detailed benchmark subcategory.

On the visualization itself you will see a series of columns (starting on the left) of the agencies included in the benchmark subgrouping you selected in step 1, as well as a column (on the far right) for the agency you selected in step 2 to compare against the agency subgrouping. You will also see two lines, one in dark blue that represents the Government wide % of budget spent on the selected benchmarked subcategory, and a second line in brown that represents the selected subgroupings % of budget spent on the selected benchmarked subcategory. Use steps 3 and 4 to further slice the data. Lastly, you can download the data used to produce the custom graphics by selecting Source Data under the visual.
